Flow receiving of milk from milk-trucks at dairy plants, with on-stream commercial accounting and measuring of milk received.

Key technological functions

  • Filtration of milk in order to clean it from mechanical impurities;
  • Measurement of received milk volume;
  • Received milk weight evaluation (with density recalculation);
  • On-stream automatic air-removing from the milk flow with vacuum deaerator (subatmospheric pressure is generated by vacuum ejector);
  • Technological data registration and compilation of Operation register in real time;
  • Operation within range of preset capacity and production parameters (independently if resistance at the plant outlet);
  • CIP-cleaning of the plant;
  • Operative visual control of key-parameters: volume, weight, density, temperature.

Auxiliary functional features

  • Availability of Ethernet connection to PC;
  • Availability of the plant’s PLC integration to the High-Level Automatic Control System of the Milk Receiving Dept.

Optional features (to be specified as separate technical task)

  • Remote PC control of the plane, with PC compiled data-base of received milk quantity and quality parameters.

Control system functions  

  • Automatic pump control (switching on/off, soft start adjustment, stop, capacity regulation);
  • Automatic calculation of received milk weight with recalculation of volume and density at actual temperature;
  • Technological data registration and compilation of Operation register in real time;
  • Automatic control of pneumatic valves and butterfly valves with pneumatic actuators;
  • Visual control of received milk key-data (volume, weight, temperature).
The plant automatic control system is based on SIEMENS PLC, FESTO (SMC) pneumatic devices; touch-screen operator’s panel on the control-board is provided for operation set-up by selection of the following mode of menu:
  • Manual control (adjustment);
  • Automatic control (production);
  • Pre-set parameters (service);
  • Alarms output;
  • Register output;
  • CIP-cleaning.

Construction features

Factory assembled SKID-plant consists of:
  • Stainless steel filter with removable mesh cartridge for cleaning milk of mechanical impurities;
  • Self-priming centrifugal pump (Russia) with frequency control drive (Germany) – 1 pcs.;
  • Vacuum deaerator with vacuum generator (Japan/Germany) and current level sensor (Germany) – 1 set;
  • Electro-magnetic flowmeter (Sitrans FM by Siemens (Germany) as standard delivery) – 1 pcs.;
  • Manual sampling device (Spain) – 1 pcs.;
  • Controlling devices and sensors: temperature transmitters PT100 (Russia), pressure transmitters (Russia) – 1 set;
  • Pneumatic valves with actuators by Bardiani (Italy), fittings and internal pipelines – 1 set;
  • Stainless steel switch cabinet with PLC by Siemens and operator’s touch-screen (7”) panel by Weintek (Korea) – 1 set;
  • SKID – 1 pcs.

Required operational conditions

Milk receiving plant “PUMA-Avtomat” should be installed in-doors, in heated production departments, with normal ambient temperature and humidity. “PUMA-Avtomat” switch-cabinet ingress protection rating is IP54 (spray-proof design).

Special conditions

  • It is necessary to avoid overbending or twisting of flexible hose*, as it may obstruct or block suction of milk by the pump and decrease the plant capacity. Flexible hose MAX length must not exceed 5 meters.
  • Inlet DN at nominal capacity of the plant must be sufficient to guarantee milk flow of MIN 1.5-2.0 m/sec.
  • Flexible hose* must be wire-reinforced, made of materials approved for alimentary products, rigid enough to avoid DN variations during production, CIP-cleaning solutions resistant, equipped with standard sanitary connection couplings.
  • The plant capacity is guaranteed when the milk trucks valves function properly. In case of their malfunction (partial opening of milk truck outlet valves) the plant production capacity goes down.
  • Optional solution. When the space at customer’s Milk receiving Dept. is not sufficient for mounting of the complete SKID plant, it is possible to mount it as separate blocks: deaeration column and self-priming pump will be located along the milk-trucks passage, while vaccum deaerator, flow-meter and switch-cabinet with control panel will be mounted in the operators’ room. In such case the interconnection of the plant units (pipe-lines and cabling) shall be determined as auxiliary terms.
* flexible hose is not included in standard delivery.

Standard delivery terms

Scope of services:
  • Manufacturing and supply of the plant;
  • Start-up and commissioning (at Customer’s plant) with training course for the staff.
List of technical accompanying documents:
  • Technical passport;
  • Operation and maintenance manual;
  • Declaration of correspondence to requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TRCU).
Guaranteed operating lifetime – 12 months.
Manufacturing time (readiness for delivery) – up to 90 days.
